Friends
During this project, (Portrait, Mirror, Masquerade), I chose take photographs surrounding women. Throughout my process I never had a typical “stereotype” in mind, I was more taking photographs that I felt brought happiness and warmth when a group of women are hanging out together. I took my photos at a “Galentine’s Day” social gathering, and my process consisted of walking around and trying to get the best angles so that I could capture the best moments. It was hard to find the right lighting and I was having issues with my camera at the time, and I would occasionally struggle to find the right settings to use. Even though some of my images might have been blurry or not had the best lighting, I felt that it got the message that I wanted across. Throughout my images, there were funny moments and smiles, and this brought out positivity. I was happy with the angles and images I was able to capture, especially some of the better lit portraits. My project may have not been entirely centered around a stereotype but is centered around women and loving connections between friends.
